My new favourites for stressed and sensitive skin

I know I’m not the only one here who’s had the worst skin during quarantine! We’re all feeling very stressed and frazzled even two months on and it was definitely showing for me. I’m not sure if it was the stress or the binge eating I did at the beginning of lockdown but my breakouts were the worst they’re ever been. I switched up part of my skincare and my skins possibly the best it’s ever been now!

The Body Shop, Vitamin C Skin Boost Instant Smoother

Since using this product I’ve become an absolute advocate for having vitamin c in your routine. It smooths and softens the skin and I’ve noticed an improvement in my skins glow since using this product! It’s also a great primer for makeup (not that I’ve worn any in weeks).

The Body Shop, Skin Defence Multi-Protection Lotion SPF 50+
For years I’ve been using an SPF in my routine after I learnt about the damage the sun can cause and the premature wrinkles! I found switching my SPF helped more than anything to calm down my breakouts as a lot of sun creams often more greasy/oily. When you find an SPF that fits your skin, you hold onto it like the holy grail. I use it daily before my vitamin c to keep my skin healthy and those wrinkles away.

Revolution Skincare, Targeted Blemish Serum 2% Salicylic Acid
I was looking for something more gentle than hyaluronic acid (it can sometimes make my skin more sensitive) and after a little research I found salicylic is great for sensitive skin. I use this just 2-3 times a week as it’s a chemical exfoliant and I can really tell a difference. My blackheads, blemishes and any discolouration are noticeably reduced when I’ve used this and it’s so affordable!

We’ve all heard a thousand times over how amazing water is for the skin but I’d never really paid that much attention. That was until a facetime with a friend a few weeks ago where her skin was the clearest I’d ever seen it and looked so glowey, and all she did was drink tonnes of water a day. I now drink about 3 litres a day and it’s honestly made the biggest improvement to my skin and it was the easiest (and cheapest)!

Who knows when we’ll be out of this lockdown and awful times, but I’ll be bringing my updated skincare out the other side with me.
I hope you’re all staying safe.
